Family Mediation and Collaboative Law

Mediation is now a well established and fast growing process for resolving disputes in which an imparial third party helps people  in dispute find a mutually acceptable resolution.  Mediation is generally more cost effective and quicker than going to Court and is a flexible process that can be used to settle family disputes.

Resolution and Collaborative Family Lawers also provide a cost effective solution to solving family disputes.

Our family lawyers are members of Resolution.  Resolution is committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.  Members follow a Code of Practive that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems and encourages solutions that consider the needs of the whole family - in particular the best interests of children.

Our Collaborative lawyers will work with you, your partner and your partner's lawyer in a series of face to face negotiations to help you resolve your family dispute.

Although the collaborative family law process is a relatively new Simon Immins trained in Collaborative Law 2006 and has conducted many successful collaborative divorces.

Within the process each person appoints their own lawyer but instead of conducting negotiations between you and your partner by letter or phone you meet together to work things out face to face.

Each of you will have your lawyer by your side through out the entire process and therefore you will benefit from legal advice as you go.  The aim of collaboratie law is to resolve family disputes without going to court and away from the hostile environment of Court proceedings. Collaborative settlements will be more cost effective and are generally better for all parties. Contact Simon Immins for more details.
